Malaysia has announced its goal to become an Artificial Intelligence Nation by 2030, with 2026 marked as a crucial transition year.

The government allocated RM 1.36 billion to the Ministry of Digital Malaysia, including RM 53 million for the Malaysia Digital Accelerator Grant and RM 18.1 million to strengthen the National Artificial Intelligence Office (NAIO).

Officials emphasized that AI development isn’t just about technology — it must also address governance, talent, infrastructure, and digital trust.
